Current Option:
Currently I use the Garmin implemented two-factor authentication method on my Garmin account. This method sends an SMS message to my phone number and then I supply the one time code contained in the SMS message in order to log into my Garmin Account.
Request:
Due to the nature of ongoing attacks and vulnerabilities in the cyber space, please add the option to enable two-factor authentication via a trusted device or app. This would remove the vulnerable link in SMS communications.
This implementation would likely involve a QR code to be generated or the code to be displayed. Then a secondary device would add the code and generate a unique time based token to enter and verify.

Even better would be Passkey support. In 2024 passkey support has begun rolling out to modern operating systems. Passkeys offer the highest level of security plus convenience.
