Walking App not accurate

Hi, I purchase Fenix 6s Pro on 12/28/22. So far, I have used it for step tracking, with the Strength App and with the Indoor Cycling App. Question #1 When using the Walking App, it grossly overstates the distance. I walk at an indoor track where 8 laps=1 mile. On day#1, I walked 0.5 miles and the watch recorded 0.8 miles. On day two, I walked 0.75 miles and the watch recorded 1.3 miles. Both of the watch readings from the two walks are 55-60% greater than expected. I understand that an exact reading is not reality, but this difference has me concerned that I may not have a setting configured correctly or there is an issue with the watch itself. Thank you in advance, Guy Gallicho

  • Have you turned off GPS for the walking app? By default it is using GPS. If the app get signals from the satellites it will go crazy if you are indoors. So, best is to make a copy of the walking app and name it Indoor walking and turn off GPS.

Have you set the stride length for walking? If you haven't walked outdoors a lot with it the stride length will be more inaccurate. If you walk a lot indoors it is a good idea to set a custom stride length.
