Sync Qardio with Garmin?

Has anyone figured out how to sync Qardio products with Garmin?

I have a Qardio Arm which works perfectly and I like it, but I cannot figure out a way to automatically sync it to Garmin.

I also convinced a friend to get a Garmin Venu 2 Plus and now he is unhappy because it doesn't automatically sync with his Qardio X scale.

I use Cronometer and it shows the data from both Qardio and Garmin, but there is no way for Garmin to import the Qardio data. I installed MyFitnessPal because it was supposed to sync with both Qardio and Garmin, but no love from Garmin on importing weight or blood pressure either.

It's really frustrating.

My other big gripe with Garmin is about Garmin Pay not working with the largest US credit cards, like American Express or any Citibank Mastercard.

  • Garmin has their own devices for blood pressure and weight. I suspect they have little desire to promote other company's products. I have both devices. Before I started using the Index S2, I used MyFitnessPal to sync my Withings scale to Garmin Connect. It usually worked. When it would fail, I had to disconnect the Garmin-MFP interface and the MFP-Withings interface, then reconnect both sides. So you might want to try that.

As for Garmin Pay, you'll need to take that up with AmEx and Citibank.

  • Well, Garmin also has its own scale, but I can still get data to sync with my Withings scale.

So, if Garmin accepts weight data from MFP or Cronometer for Withings, why not the same for weight data from Qardio?

And why not the same for blood pressure? The frustrating experience just pushes users to platforms like Apple or Google.

As to Garmin Pay, one would think it's far more important for Garmin to integrate payments from the largest banks, than it is for AmEx or Citibank. And it is up to Garmin, not Citi or AmEx -- they work with every other watch platform I have ever had.

  • Currently, there are no scales other than Garmin's own Index and Index S2 that sync directly to Garmin Connect. The Tanita BC-1000 used to transmit using a Garmin ANT stick to your watch and/or Garmin Connect, but that was over 10 years ago. Not sure if that is still functional.

Garmin also has its own scale, but I can still get data to sync with my Withings scale.

Sure, you can "get it to work" using the undocumented method, but not all that user friendly. I often see on these forums where the sync from withings > MFP > Garmin Connect is broken.

just pushes users to platforms like Apple

Even more of a closed system.
