Ugh, this happened to me today. I was on a tour in Panama City today and in a van for most of the day, but my watch thinks I walked 18K steps on a continual basis between 5am and 5pm. So annoying when…

You do not need to take the watch off. Just create a new activity copied for example from Cardio, Elliptical, or Indoor Cycling, name it Drums, and start it when paying drums. These activity types suppress the steps counting. As a plus, you will have a record of your drumming session with some stats that may be quite interesting.
