Remove / Edit steps

My Venu 3 recorded too much steps. I could not find a way to delete the recording or to edit the steps. Same problem was reported here:

https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mobile-apps-web/f/garmin-connect-web/211669/is-it-possible-to-edit-remove-steps

Still no solution yet?

  • Garmin does not have an option to edit steps, neither to add nor remove. If too many steps are a chronic issue on your device, then have a look here - My Garmin Watch is Not Accurately Counting Steps | Venu® 3 | Garmin Customer Support

  • What a pity. The only workaround is: I always have to remember to take my watch off when I play drums.

You do not need to take the watch off. Just create a new activity copied for example from Cardio, Elliptical, or Indoor Cycling, name it Drums, and start it when paying drums. These activity types suppress the steps counting. As a plus, you will have a record of your drumming session with some stats that may be quite interesting.

  • If I stay in a bathroom (2x2 meter) for 15 minutes (Blow dyr-hair, comb etc.), Venu collect 300 steps. In real I have done 6 steps. On the other side when I use an activity, e.g. "Badminton": play 45 Minutes and the acitvity collects 0.1km distance during the rally.

I think it is ok to be 10% off, but to be over 1000% off, is really not nice and this all became useless. So Garmin should really enhanced it, and let at least to the user editingt all activities (including) steps manually.

  • That's exactly what my stepson does, when he plays the drums. No steps, but lots of HR info. I'm really amazed at some of the charts he gets after 30-45 minutes. He''s a banger as as Ringo would say, and he really works up a sweat.

  • Ugh, this happened to me today. I was on a tour in Panama City today and in a van for most of the day, but my watch thinks I walked 18K steps on a continual basis between 5am and 5pm. So annoying when I likely did more like 1.5-2K steps today… Garmin, please give us the option to delete inaccurate data.
