Trainerroad workouts not effects much in Recovery and Training readiness

Hi all, I do Trainerroad workouts 5 times a week, I recorded on my tablet and synced to my FR955 watch. My cycling power and HR zones are up to date in connect and on the watch too.

Today 8am I had a very hard 90 minutes workout, almost threw out on the end. Smile I have low and high stress level since then, so the watch sees properly my actual status.

I can see my workout on the watch and in Connect app, but both says I’m fully recovered and my training readiness is almost on a maximum level at 4pm. As I am feeling myself right now, I‘m not recovered at all, obviously.

I’m pretty sure if I would have recorded this ride with the watch, I had to recovery for 24 hours or more.

Could it be possible to a 3rd party recording doesn’t have enough effect on these widgets, or I missed something during the setup?

Thanks for any help

Trainerroad app is compatible with Garmin's Training Status. If the status does not update after the workout, try syncing your watch again, perhaps even several times.

From the article Why Is My Training Status Not Updating on My Garmin Device? | Garmin Customer Support

Do Cycling Activities Recorded Using a Cycling App Count?

Activities uploaded from the following apps will count towards your Training Status as long as you meet the requirements mentioned above, and have an activity of the correct type on your Garmin® device:

    • Tacx Training app

    • Zwift

    • ROUVY

    • TrainerRoad

It is recommended that your device have a recent activity recorded on your activity to provide the most accurate information. You will need to sync your Garmin device after the activity has been uploaded to Garmin Connect for Training Status to update on the Garmin device then sync back to your account.

  • Thanks, I know that, but that's not my problem either. What I'm questioning is the amount of the effect of a 3rd party training on these metrics.
