Zwift rides and workouts still don’t count for Garmin Intensity feature.

I don’t understand how Garmin can not find a solution to this problem. Why can’t they find an algorithm which simulates more or less the same outcome as the device does? I train 3-4 times a week on Zwift which are mostly hard intervals and only ride maybe once or twice outside. So, it is crucial to me to see the intensity. And I don’t want to do a mambo jambo wearing my fenix6 simultaneously with Zwift and manage the apps later on… Any comments?

  • The calculation of Intensity Minutes does not happen in Garmin Connect. There is practically no data post-processing in Garmin Connect, or on Garmin's servers. All the metrics, including the intensity minutes has to come from the source of the activity. For the moment only Garmin watches, HRM-Pro, and some of the newest Edge computers calculate the Intensity Minutes, and send them to Garmin Connect. It means if you want the IMs from Zwift, you either have to use one of the compatible devices, or you have to persuade Zwift to include the IM data into their files, and have it certified by Garmin, in order that the data can be accounted for in Garmin Connect.
