Garmin connect drops some waypoints from gpx

I have a gpx file made with Garmin mapsource. If I upload this gpx to Garmin Connect some of the waypoints are missing.

For example, this course misses some waypoints:

Waypoints 3N, 5B and 16A are missing and maybe some others. Problem can be seen in both the connect web version and android app.

I have a different version of the same gpx. This version has been stripped of symbols etc. and now it works:

and the gpx used for this course:

There seems to be a real bug here as the first gpx-file is just as legit as the last one. First is made with Garmin mapsource. Last one is my own modification of the first one.

actually even the better version breaks as the waypoint 5B is still missing there. This looks like a major bug. Same files work well in mapsource and basecamp and in my all other software.
