"Hill Repeats" coach workouts preconfigure in a non usable way, can I somehow fix this?

I need an option to edit a premade "Hill Repeats" coach workout,
The workout decided that after 1.6km I will be on the bottom of the hill.... but it took me 1.75km to get there...
Why can't I simply change it to start the hill climb part with a button click? there is any way to get help with that?
Or I will just be forced to maybe cut short on the warmup part?
I don't want to skip parts of the workout - so if it say to do 1.6 km I want to do that not less

  • Yes, in Garmin Connect Web, you can go to Training Plans and edit the workout to your liking:

At least this is possible at the Self-Guided training plans. I am not sure it is the same at the Coach Plans, since I have none active, so cannot test it, and it is already a long time ago, I did one.

  • I don't have this type of view for the type of training plan I am talking about

  • Well, in that case, if you really need the editing, then I am afraid your only option is stopping the Coach Plan, and choosing one of the many Self-Guided Plans, where the editing is available. You can also suggest a change to Garmin through their form at Share Ideas | Garmin, but that won't help you either with the current plan.

Another way how you could handle the specific case in your OP, is doing a warm-up before the workout, getting you 1.6km from the hill, and starting the scheduled workout only then. You could even warm-up to the hill , start the workout, run 800m away and then back again.

  • Thanks, yes the share ideas is the thing I was looking for - I think they don't have an option to edit it

  • Edit: I see now that I didn't read the post correctly. It is just the first repeat that got that issue since you haven't got to the hill yet. What you can do is that you press pause and run without logging that last part. That will work pretty ok if the hill isn't that far away, but if you have to run several km before you are there then it will not be that fun to skip logging that part.

  • Yes exactly the problem is that the way it design is not fun since I have to run to that place and then my run is not calculated - the main problem is that without having control - the use of that is just not fun...

  • As I wrote, if you start the activity without the workout when leaving the home, and then the workout only when you are close enough, it will be all right - all recorded in the same activity. And yes, if you ask, you can start the workout in the middle of the activity - long-press the Menu button » Training » Workouts » your workout » start

  • I have the new Venu 3 - in its menus it does not support the go to another activity when an activity is active (I am trying it now)

  • You do not need to go to any other activity (you probably mean the Multisport feature). Just do as I described - all within the same activity. You can start the workout in the middle, without interrupting the activity. You do not even need to pause it.

  • No - I mean that the option to start an activity when you are inside an activity does not work (I can go to the Apps or to any other screen - but the "Activities" are blocked when you are in the middle of activity (for example I am now in a Run and I can't start any other workout before I will close this one)
