Sleep badge reward is not well balanced

Hi, I've recently noticed that the "sleep streak" badge awards 4 points putting this badge at the same level as an Half Marathon or a 50 mile bike ride.

Considering that this is also repeatable, it puts people who sleep well for a month (possibly without doing any actual activity) at the same level of who runs 2 marathons in a month.

Am I the only one who thinks this makes the whole badge system less appealing?

  • There are lots of inconsistencies in the badge system both for points awarded and which ones are repeatable, this is just the latest. I just treat them as a bit of fun as I cannot get motivated by the points and leveling up system in its current format.

  • I agree with you!

People that can sleep well will reach higher level than me, even though I run almost 300km a month

  • I totally agree, very strange that the sleep streak badge is 4 points AND repeatable. For doing absolutely nothing you'll get constantly rewarded.

  • I think 75 is too easy. Maybe make it 85 or 90.

  • I completely agree ... too many points are awarded for this 'lazy'-badge (Put a limit to it's repeatedness (sorry for this probably non-existing word) ... max it out at 5 repeats ?

  • I agree. Is totally unfair, I spent years to earn points with steps, runs... now in 2 months a friend of mine just sleeping has earned around 40 points.

Please Garmin be consistent. Edit the rules for this badge. Otherway will be ridiculous

  • Considering how terrible the Garmin sleep algorithm is and how easy it is to get a sleep badge even when getting a terrible night's rest, it really does make a complete mockery of they're points system.

  • This is very true, here's a good example:

Last night I went up about 9:30 and started gaming on the PC through till about 2:30 when I actually went to bed and went to sleep waking at about 7:30, here is my sleep graph Joy

  • I think the same thing. I make sport very often, I am a mountanier, so I'm climbing, running, riding and of course mountaineering. But the sleep is often not good. Since the starting of these sleeping badges I got just two times the Sleep Streak badge. In my own group, with my friends, we compete against each other. Until September 2023, I was leading by about 50 points ahead of the second. But now I've fallen back, because I have friends who have won 27 times of the Streak Badge.
I don't think these badges are about sport and so it's UNFAIR to give points for them. As fullppo wrote, other people who are not such good sleepers, or who sleep differently because of their work, can't make up for these 4-point sleeps even if they do a lot of sport.
