Calories Walking / Calories freezing

Hy,

since the Garmin Support couldn't help me I am trying my luck in the forum.

The calories burned during walking activities seem to freeze after a while.

I am Male, weighing about 80kg.

Today I did a walk with a distance of 8 Kilometers.

At 7787 Steps I "burned" 106 kcal. (Which is way too low in my opinion)

A few steps later the watch shows 105 kcal burned.

From 8578 to 9384 steps the watch says, that I did not burn any active calories.

In the Screenshot from the activity you can see that for the first 3km the calorie count seems to work,

But then suddenly stops to work.

The heart rate and my pace remain very similar the whole walk.

  • Average HR still at 67BPM, but resting HR set to 30.

Well, it is not ideal, since the Active Calories will be overestimated in this way, and it will have impact also on other metrics (for example Intensity Minutes, and others), but if it works to your satisfaction, then it may be better than the "freezing calories", which still do not make much sense, because the HR was sufficiently elevated above the Resting HR.
