Hi Everyone.
I'm pretty sure this is gone, but I lost data on a ride this morning that I know contains a significant improvment on a few segment PBs so I really want the data!
It's on an old Edge 510 which still works perfectly (or has up to now), firmware 6.10. I was with a friend who has the GPS coordinate data but obviously I want my timings.
I had heart rate, speed and cadence sensors connected via ANT+ and my iPhone on Bluetooth, which was running LiveTrack as usual. Battery was on 80% when I started. LiveTrack has no trackpoints either which makes me think the issue was there from the very start of the ride and I'm pretty sure means the data is gone, but I thought it was worth asking in case anyone else has recovered data from a similar situation.
All seemed to be working as normal until about 40 minutes into the ride when I looked down and the unit had totally shutdown. I'd looked about 20 seconds earlier when it seemed fine. I left it alone until I got home, connected power and it booted itself up, offering to save or discard the ride as I hoped. Battery was now on 65% so it wasn't a battery failure. I opted to save the ride which also seemed to work, until it uploaded with no gps or timing data. There is average and max heart rate, average and max speed, distance and the correct duration. And even more strangely the correct start point and end point (where I saw it shut down) are there if I upload to Garmin Connect. Strava won't import it at all.
The DebugLog file on the device shows one message from the point where it shut down:
RTL Trap,Software Version 6.10,2023/09/08,07:36:07,,GPS main,,,0x6e5d8001,Out of memory handles; r0=task ID; r1=limit; r2=rtrn
I have tried a few online tools to fix it but got nothing. I'm confident with manipulating these files, so if there is any way to get anything, including if that means grafting in my friend's GPS coordinates and getting even just my timings I'd be fine with that. I just can't see how it's going to happen at the moment.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks!
