Insights not appearing anymore

My last insight was generated at the beginning of July of this year. After that no more insights have appeared on my profile.
I have checked that I have given consent to contribute to/receive insights data, so that's not the reason.

Does anybody have the same problem/knows how to fix it?

(ps I am using a Forerunner 255)

  • Try power cycling the watch.

  • You can also try toggling the Insights consent in Garmin Connect settings (disabling and then re-enabling again).

    Edit: However: "Once consent for Insights is granted, only new data uploaded to Connect after the date consent was granted will be able to be compared. Old data isn't reprocessed to be compared after Insights consent is granted." (from What is the Insights Feature in Garmin Connect? | Garmin Customer Support) I suspect that after toggling the setting, you may need to wait a few days before some insights are generated

  • Same problem here. Neither do friends (fenix 6s Pro, Vivoactive 4s, Venu 2 and Venu sq, Android and iPhone).

    I have also not received any new insight notifications since June 28.
    I have turned the option off and back on, withdrawn permission and given it again.
    I assumed no one is currently getting insight notifications or that Garmin stopped generating them.

    If you mean seing the stats on the page https://connect.garmin.com/modern/insights, then I can see them all the time (see below)

    If you mean Insights notifications only, then I disabled practically all notifications, so I indeed do not get any (and that's how I want it).

    Yes, I mean the notifications only, not the stats, they are updated as they should.

    I have all the relevant notifications enabled.

    It's not a disaster, but I liked the extra motivation on a lazy day :-)

  • I also see the graphs, but the messages/notifications are not being generated anymore.
    After hearing what Corr has said about all of his friends having the same problem, it seems to be a general Garmin issue, so I think for now I won't try disabling/re-enabling insights consent.

    Should I contact Garmin support or will they be able to find out about this problem by reading the forum themselves?

    It is safer to report it to the Support. It is very uncertain whether they would notice it here. They sometimes intervene on the forum when there are numerous support tickets submitted, and refer back to the forum, but otherwise it is not usual.

    Because I've done that, but they just closed the ticket by sending me a "rate your interaction" email without ever answering my email.

    Is this normal Garmin support behavioiur ? Because it's the second time in a row that this happens to me.

  • I do not have such experience with the Support. Try calling them, or using the chat option.

    I also get that. The ticket is not closed. It is just requesting that you rate the last interaction. The case remains open, and I continue to get emails from Product Support until they state that the issue has been resolved. Maybe they should state that more clearly in the auto-generated "Rate your Garmin Support Interaction" email or don't auto-generate this email until it has been resolved.
