Zwift and Garmin interoperability

I recently purchased a Tacx Neo 2T trainer, and I'm running into some dilemmas using it with Zwift:

I understand "Intensity Minutes" will only accrue if tracked from a compatible device. I also understand that activity stats don't count toward challenges unless logged on a Garmin device. However, if I log the activity on a Garmin device, the speed, distance, and elevation data are going to be missing or inaccurate. And if I decide to upload both from my Garmin device and Zwift to have all the data present, but split between two activities, then I'm counting the same training load twice.

Is there something in my setup that I'm missing, or is there a workaround? I don't care if the activity is tracked by Garmin or Zwift, I just want all the data in one activity and all my stats counting on relevant Garmin Connect features.

ATTN developers: It would be great if a Garmin device could be used as a sort of hub for virtual workouts: Instead of Zwift connecting to all of your sensors, it could instead connect to your watch or head unit and be fed sensor data through that device. Zwift, in turn would send location data to the Garmin device.
