Request - Garmin Connect Auto-Sync Threshold Value from Training Peaks

Can Garmin Connect automatically sync and update the Threshold Value from Training Peaks? We could have an option to enable this on the Account Information page like the image attached

The reason I ask is that my coach occasionally updates this value based on my training sessions, and I currently have to manually adjust it on my device each time. It would be more efficient if it auto-synced.

  • Cannot help with that - I recommend submitting your request at Share Ideas | Garmin, but you could also enable the LTHR Auto-Detection option, and the Lactate Threshold HR will update automatically, based on the detected value (assuming you use your Garmin device for the training).

  • Hi there, LTHR Auto-Detection doesn't work in this case. Thanks.

  • LTHR Auto-Detection doesn't work in this case

Why? If the LTHR really changed, it should be detected. I guess your coach does not adjust the value just somehow randomly, rather his correction is based on your performance. And if the performance changed, then the watch should see it before your coach needs to adjust it If the watch does not detect it, then Garmin may be interested in the data of that activity, in order to improve their algorithms. I recommend contacting the Support, if the auto-detection does not work for you.

  • I do have the LTHR feature enabled on my devices, but I rarely utilize it. One reason is that it occasionally prompts for an update post-ride when I wasn't specifically training for LTHR. Moreover, the adjustments aren't random. My coach is more adept at setting it in line with my performance goals compared to an automated detection feature.

Also, for training data consistency, I wish there was a single "source of truth." for that instead of having to add it manually into multiple apps like Garmin, Strava, Zwift, Rouvy, and others. A unified location for this information would be much better. Because Garmin Connect is the primary hub for all my other apps, if they could do that, it would be easier for the other apps to grab the same values as well.

I value the Auto-Detection feature's intent, but I prefer to rely on my coach for training insights instead of leaning on Garmin to fulfill that role.

I will try to contact the support.
