ConnectIQ data fields not syncing/showing in Connect Website

I have 2 connect iq fields added to my datascreens, Stryd Zones and Auxiliary Heartrate v2. The data however doesn't show in the connect website, while it DOES show the fields at the right hand sight of the activity (where it shows the watch, equipment and thus connectiq fields used).

The data DOES show up in the garmin connect mobile app (android).

I checked an activity from yesterday, using the exact same setup, and there the connectiq data DOES show so it isn't a bug in the displaying itself.

Anyone experiencing somethign similar? As I also wanted to use it to check OHR vs strap for heartrate in this more difficult activity it kinda sucks ;)

  • I checked an activity from yesterday, using the exact same setup, and there the connectiq data DOES show so it isn't a bug in the displaying itself.

Could you share the links to both of these activities (one with the CIQ data, and the other one without it), so that we can try to find the culprit?

Sharing a Garmin Connect Activity | Garmin Customer Support

  • Sure, this is the one is from yesterday where the data is visible:

    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/11739255078

And from today, data not visible:

    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/11747399634

When manually checking the fit files the data is in both so the fit files seem ok...

(Tried sharing as indicated on the support site, but got some iframe code which messed up the post so just sharing the direct links to the activities)

  • The data from the CIQ data fields is indeed available in both activities in the background JSON structure, so that's not the problem. The only difference I see between the two activities is, that the one not displaying the CIQ data seems to be a structured workout, while the other one is a plain Running activity with no workout started. It looks like there is some conflict in displaying the data in such case. I recommend contacting the Support and reporting the bug to them, because I am afraid there is nothing you could do on your side to fix it (apart from avoiding to use Workouts).

  • Thanks for the analysis and suggestion. Today was indeed a workout, interesting thought. Think I'll try and test this by doing 2 short activities, one aworkout and the other just a plain activity and sync both at the same time after finishing... If indeed one then again shows the data and the other doesn't I'd say that confirms it. Cheers!

Btw, the fact that it does show properly in the connect mobile app (and the stryd data is actually synced to the stryd site too) seems to indicate the data is there in the servers... Just not shown on the website. Weird...

  • Just not shown on the website. Weird...

This kind of problem has happened off and on for years, where CIQ FIT data is missing from either the website or the app.

  • Can't say I've ever noticed it before and think I just about always have at least one connectiq field installed... But who knows, anyway. Gonna test some more including 2 activities on teh same day and syncing right away at the same time and see what happens.

  • It looks like the non-displaying of the CIQ data is caused by the following JavaScript error preventing the complete parsing of the graph data. It still may be related to the Workout used in the concerned activity, but it may come from some other data as well - some more deteiled debugging would be needed to tell for sure.

  • Yeah to be clear I'm not defending garmin, just venting

  • Oh no worries, I got that ;)

  • So did 4 things today, all one after another directly

    1. Run freely, no workout of anything.
    2. Run with intervals through training -intervals-structuur repeats on the watch itself
    3. Run with a similar workout created on connect and synced to the watch
    4. Run freely again

1 and 4 show fine on connect webpage and the mobile app

2 and 3 only show fine on the mobile app, connect website is missing the connect iq fields

So something is broken with connect web in combination with workouts and connect iq fields... Sigh.

Will try and contact support on this...

    *Edit*

Chatted with support and that seemed very helpfull, supplied all the necessary stuff and he'll make a case with the development team  and update me after it's been reviewed
