Intensity minutes not tracking correctly.

So I got a Venu (first edition) to replace my Forerunner.  I did two workouts exactly the same (same treadmill, speed, duration).  The first workout I wore my Forerunner and I saw both intensity minutes (55) and calories record accurately.  The second workout the Venu recorded only 4 intensity minutes but about the same calories.  I have tried the following:

1. Compared my heart rate zones in the app between the two devices and confirmed they are identical.

2. Validated my Venu is basing intensity minutes based on heart rate.

I noticed in looking at the day I worked out in the app showed my resting HR was 103 where my normal resting heart rate is about 75.  Could it be that it calculated my lack of intensity minutes based on the watch tracking a resting heart rate v. the heart rate zones?  Doesn't seem like it should work that way but maybe it did.

Thanks in advance.

  • Forerunner 55, unlike Venu 1st gen, does not require 10 consecutive minutes above the threshold to start counting IMs. See the details here:

By default, the watch indeed uses the Resting HR, so if you did not change the settings (or if the setting  does not work, like it is the case for example at some firmware versions of Instinct), you'd have to stay more than 10 consecutive uninterrupted minutes above approx 150% of your Resting HR
