See stats over section of workout?

Outside of recording two separate activities, is there any way within connect or an easy 3rd party to view the stats over a segment of the workout?

a lot of my hikes/runs up basically up and mountain and back down. Would love to see stuff like average HR on the up, whereas right now it averages it with the down which kinda negates the “effort” to analyze/compare

Maybe I don't understand your question correctly, but would disabling auto-lap and then pressing lap yourself once up the mountan work for you? That way you can easily compare stats of both laps.

  • Let me introduce you to Strava. www.strava.com. You can also compare yourself against other people You can also create segments in connect, but I don't think that functionality is well used.

  • Laps only display distance and pace no? Can I view things like HR per pace?

I am not sure, I use the history on the watch to review stats and Runalyze, both have average HR, pace etc per lap. Alternatively you could maybe try to use a multisport activity with two hikes or runs.

Edit: I am not sure how I ended up on this forum. I assumed it was a question on the Fenix 7 forum. Your device may not support multisport.

A relatively easy way is by using the Trim function on the activity page. Trim the activity to the segment of interest. Some basic data, like the average pace, will be visible even without saving the trimming, but do not worry to save the trimmed section - after reviewing the stats of the selected segment, you can restore the original whenever you want. And you can repeat the operation as many times as you need.

  • If you know the distance/time at the start and end of your section, you can use https://www.runalyze.com. It's a free site which syncs with your Connect account and gives you more stats for your activities.

It also allows you to (non-destructively) chop an activity up into laps of arbitrary time or distance. For example, instead of the normal auto-laps per 1 km / 1 mile, I can tell runalyze to show me laps at 2 km, 5 km and 10.5 km. Or I could tell it show me laps every 3.5 km.

It's basically the same idea as using the Trim function, except this doesn't make any changes to the activity (either in Connect or runalyze), so nothing needs to be undone.
