insights and reports are inconsistent about VO2 Max

In my understanding "top 25%" might be read as "better than 75%".

But insights say "better than 18% of users" (and that's for selected age/gender) which could be read as "bottom 18%" or "top 82%" (eeeeeew).

If i switch from group 40-44 to 45-49 it is still "better than 21% of users".

I suspect I might be not the part of "top 25%" group.

  • While the VO₂max screen states you are in the top 25%, it refers to the general population levels, while Insights are based on the stats of Garmin users, who are usually much more sportive and more fit than the average population. Besides that, the VO₂max is usually being detected only at a subselection of the more fit users (It is not quite easy to get a VO₂max value just from casual walking). In other words the VO₂max screen will always place you much higher, than when comparing you to other Garmin users in the Insights.
