When adding events to Garmin connect why is cyclocross not included as an event type? Races have to be added as gravel/unpaved or cycling.

Nobody wants to scroll through 50 thousands (or more) of all existing sports when adding an event. What's wrong with using the generic Cycling (or the existing subcategories) and putting Cyclocross into the title if you want to make it clear to others?
Who said 50? There’s Road,Cross, MTB and track racing (and these days Gravel) For some reason Garmin has neither track nor cross, whilst oddly having gravel, there might be a couple of gravel races every year in the UK whilst there’s around 10 cross races every weekend during the season.
It’s also about making it easier for me to keep track of races in connect and nothing to do with what anyone else sees.
There are many more sports than just cyclocross. You seem to be a bit limited by focusing only on your own sport. There are some 8000 sports with representative associations, and tens of thousands others less official. Only in cycling you'd find tens if not hundreds of different sports and disciplines. I do not think you'd appreciate having to scroll though a list containing all those thousands of sports.
Simply set the keyword "cyclocross" into the title of your event while using one of the available categories, and it will be clear that it is a cyclocross event
Cool the jets! My Fenix 6 has cyclocross as an activity profile so seems sensible that it's included as a separate race category. But then I'm a cyclist, not a participant in one of the other 8,000 sports (most of which don't have a specific activity recognised by Garmin). LOL.
You obviously don’t know how this works so why keep replying?
you have to scroll through THREE choices when adding a cycle race. Adding cyclocross would make it Four.
it wouldn’t affect anyone other than a cycle racer I can’t see why a non cyclocross racer would have any problem or would be forced to scroll through anything.
changing the title doesn’t add the race to any statistical breakdown
Surely how I organise my calendar is down to me and has absolutely no effect on anyone else,it certainly doesn’t make the slightest difference to how anyone else organises theirs as you seem to imply would happen.
The 3 (not 50) options you presently get when putting a cycle race on your calendar. To be perfectly clear I want Cyclocross added to this list. This would make 4 options to scroll through. It doesn’t affect events that aren’t cycle racing in any way.
I have also emailed Garmin directly with this and hopefully they won’t get confused.

When you are adding a new Event / Race in GC web (and this is a GC Web forum, where we post), there is a dropdown box with all available event types - that's what I meant:
If you need anything else, I recommend requesting the change at Share Ideas | Garmin. If it is frequently requested feature, it has a chance to be considered. Here, on the forum, it is not very likely anyone from Garmin would see it and forward to the developers. Emailing, as you did, is fine too, though using the Ideas form may help.
