Repairing corrupt .fit file (multisport)

Dear Community!

I also have the problem with a corrupted .fit file. Could someone help me and fix my problem?

Last sunday I did the challenge in Walchsee / AUT. I recorded my race via the multisport function on my Fenix 7s but the file is corrupted and unfortunately I cannot load it into Garmin connect.

I tried myself to fix it but I only get the data for the swimming part, it would be great if I have all the data of my triathlon (swim - T1 - Bike - T2 - Run).

It would be great if someone can fix my problem. Attached you will find the corrupted .fit file.

Thanks in advance,

Rebecca

sure, ending the swim your watch starts to download hr data from the strap

    • bad signal reception causes errors in the transferred data (a problem Garmin is not solving since the hrm-tri-swim showed up)
    • would suggest to contact Garmin Support and tell them about the mishap

when your are capable at that moment, try and remember to keep watch and strap close to each other Wink

or just do the tri and when needed ask for a repair afterwards Thumbsup

  • This is happening to me recently as well with the Forerunner 945 and the HRM-Pro. It seems to be related to a corrupted transfer of the HRM data from the external sensor.

Garmin Connect did not upload the activity automatically. When I tried later to upload manually, GC showed an error like "We don't support this type of file".

Using a private tool I developed I removed the corrupted fields and GC accepted the modified file.
