I imported some old Run from Strava in gpx format and they are not showing as 'Running' but as 'Other'. There is a dropdown menu under 'Other' but Running is not among the option. How can I mark these as Running so they show in my Running stats?

Yon can't do it from the activities list page. What you're looking at in your screenshot are just subcategories of "Other."
Open the activity by clicking on the title, then you'll be able to change the activity type from Other to Running.
Of course, if you have a lot of these, it could be rather tedious.
