Weather source is too far away

Garmin Connect shows weather information on the map but it seems to use weather sources that are too far away, making the information effectively useless. I went for a bike ride yesterday and it used weather from an airport 14 miles away, which is next to the water and in a completely different microclimate. The actual wind speed during my activity was way lower than shown.

Garmin should also use data from National Weather Service stations. Those are often closer and better represent actual weather conditions.

  • Even when closer, then still it's just an approximation - as it's checked only at start.

For longer activities weather may change a lot.

It should be presented as a chart with more check points.
