Navigation record does not apply to personal record

Hi, I used navigation to follow a path I have made with GPX file. I finished a ride and I have seen, this was not recorded as bicycle type, but like something "other". I change activity type on mobile, so activity could be shown with others bicycle activities. Unfortunately the personal record on climbing was not taken. I guess this is added only when activity is created, but not edited.

I tried to export *.fit file and change activity type, but I am not really familiar with *.fit file type.

Do you have any suggestion how to edit *.fit file to import it with correct activity type or maybe just how to avoid this next time I will use navigation? Thanks in advance.

    When you want to navigate a bike ride you should start by selecting the activity type biking and from there you select the course you want to navigate. You should almost never ever use the activity type Navigate. That will solve future rides. They will be logged as the type you select.

    Personal records are registered when the activity is created. Edits will not count. What you can and should do is to set the PR from the activity.

    View the activity in Garmin Connect Web. Click the cog wheel in upper right corner and click Set as PR and select the PR you want to set.
