You do not need to do it. Calories, Training Load, and other similar metrics is based on the HR, so if you add more weight, the HR will increase and so will the respective values. And for cycling VO₂max…
Same here, dont want to pay for something you could calculate on the garmin, look like a basic fracture to me
You do not need to do it. Calories, Training Load, and other similar metrics is based on the HR, so if you add more weight, the HR will increase and so will the respective values. And for cycling VO₂max you need a power meter, and it will detect the higher effort too, when you add some weight.

Adjusting the weight was possible on Edge 510 and 810 only. On newer models, a default bike weight is used, and Garmin indeed recommends using a HRM for a more accurate Calories estimation:
