Hello all,
I'm Garmin customer since maybe 2016ish... fully invested in the ecosystem.. I own Fenix 7 ss, Edge 1040, HRM pro, the scale... multiple other older devices. I'm overall more or less happy.... but recently it's really less and less.
I find it amusing that a company that is basically focusing on providing their customers RELIABLE DATA about their fitness, activities, performance, health... struggles so much in keeping the same DATA consistent across their platforms and devices.
It somehow still works when you have ONE device... but when you have at least a watch and Edge... it's getting messy. Countless times I see data not in sync, but also data spread across different places without any thought put into it. Some info is available on the watch itself, some in the app... but not in Garmin Connect Web - that should be the ULTIMATE source of truth. I mean, we should have a place where we can go and be sure THIS IS IT - THIS IS MY CORRECT DATA! but there is NONE.
I find the Garmin App most useful, but even there, NEVER had it happened that I would see same Training Readiness data on the "My Day" screen, and when I get into the detailed screen. It is and always was TOTALLY inconsistent. So what should I poor customer do.... go to Garmin Connect Web... find where is the TRUE DATA.... yet, Training Readiness is no where to find. It just doesn't exist on web.
The entire UI structure of the Connect Web looks and feels like some product of immaturity, chaos and old times, where we looked at data as a form of set of random reports.. without thinking how to connect it with each other, which data points are related.. WHY the data in the Connect Web is in such a chaotic state... Reports Section... with totally different grouping than in the App... WHY NOT MAKE IT CONSISTENT?
If DATA is truly core of your business, fire your data people - get proper employees who has ANY IDEA about DATA AS A PRODUCT and will help you make your platform useful and consistent.
When you are done with that, look into DATA disappearing randomly from your devices.... (1040 just "forgetting" the Recovery Time after restart....) seriously, the amount of DEFECT LEAKAGE you guys have in your software delivery chain is ASTONISHING.
Good luck.
