Etrex30x ANT+ sensor not detected

I have a eTrex30x with support for ANT sensors. I also purchased a Van Rysel cadence sensor that works fine on BT and ANT with other devices. My primary sport is cycling.

On my eTrex 30x I go to Setup > ANT Sensor and Bike Cadence sensor and click on 'Search for new'. While my cadence sensor is up and running with a new battery, the eTrex 30x doesn't detect the cadence sensor. Am I doing anything wrong here? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't have the eTrex 30x, so I cannot tell for sure, but I have the older eTrex 30, and it only works with speed/cadence combo sensors. It does not support separate speed or cadence sensors. Perhaps it's the same with the eTrex 30x.
