Weight training

I've just started a bit of light weight training and recording the exercises on my Fenix 7 Solar Sapphire

How do I enter the weight of the dumbells I am using ? When I view the activity on the Garmin Connect Web, there is an option to edit the weight but I think this applies to my bodyweight as the default entry is showing as 'bodyweight'.

I know the Garmin Strength app is not very good but there must be a way of entering the weight I am lifting surely ?

Thanks for any advice

It will say Bodyweight if there was no weight set, as the system assumes you weren't using any added weights. When you setup the workout you should set a weight type. Otherwise, the weight defaults to bodyweight.

Change that set to be "Manual Weight." Then change the number to be what you plan on lifting. This would make sense for any exercise where you're using dumbbells or barbells. Then, while you're dong the workout you'll have the opportunity to change the weight, if you did not lift exactly what the workout stated, or edit the weight after the workout is complete using Garmin Connect. Even if it's "Bodyweight" you should still be able to open the activity and change it by clicking on the word "Bodyweight" then changing it to a number.

  • You can turn on "edit weight" in the app settings on the watch, it will only show if you also turn on "count reps". Then you are asked to enter the weight after the excercise.

  • Exactly what I do. Works great.
