Claiming Kilimanjaro badge retrospectively

I climbed Kilimanjaro early Feb but at that time I was totally unaware of the Kilimanjaro badge. I would like to claim the badge now but despite joining the challenge it is still not awarded. Is it possible to claim it now? Obviously I have the hiking activities in my Garmin Connect. Thx for your help!

I doubt Garmin would do anything about it, since we're all following the same rules. The badge is based off of accumulated floors climbed starting from the time you joined the expedition. Any floors accumulated on the watch, nothing to do with actually climbing the mountain.

5,895 Meters or about 1,800 floors.

    EXPEDITION DETAILS
This expedition does not have a time limit. Your climb will be completed when you fulfill the required floors climbed for the expedition.

You may start or end an expedition at any time. By ending an expedition, you will lose all progress made. It cannot be counted toward completion of another expedition. You can participate in one hiking or one climbing expedition at a time.

Once you have started an expedition, make sure to sync your device within 90 days of recording any steps or floors climbed in order for your data to count toward your progress.

  • The Kilimanjaro badge hasn't really got anything to do with Kilimanjaro except and name and that you need to climb the elevation of Kilimanjaro. Anyone can take that badge anywhere in the world. You can even just walk up and down the stairs in your own home.

The hiking distance is also not relevant at all. What counts is the ascent automatically logged by the floor climb function in your watch (requires a watch that supports the floor climb function).

    Edit:

Another thing is that the Expedition badges were released in April so they where not even available in February when you did the climb/hike so it wasn't possible to get the badge at that time.
