No longer able to create courses after Garmin Connect Update

Since Garmin connect had some kind of refresh, I am no longer able to create courses :(

I keep getting multiple errors like 'Sorry, this routing feature is not available. Use another drawing method or change the map provider.' ??

The error is not web browser specific.

Any Ideas?

  • this routing feature is not available

Which routing feature are you trying to use? "Follow Popular Routes," Follow Roads?" There have been instances where certain countries have issues with using popularity routes.

  • I am using the "follow roads" options. It was working fine up until the most recent Garmin Connect update. I am based in India

  • I tried different cities in Inda, In Mumbai I was able to duplicate your issue if I used "Here" as the map provider. I was able to create a course if I changed the map provider to Google. If you prefer to use Here maps, then I suggest contacting Garmin Support for your area.

  • I tried to change the map provider between Here and Google though still the same issue. I am getting the same error message when I try to modify existing courses I have already created also. I am trying to do this in Pune (India)

  • I suggest contacting Garmin Support for your area.
  • Everything was working perfectly fine untill garmin decided to bring a unnecessary fresh update for their garmin connect... Now im unable to create a course and i cant do anything other than waiting for them to fix it up. I am from Turkey. I have to hit the road but i cant because thanks to garmin connect update im no longer able to create course. I am really pissed off.

Sorry, this routing feature is not available. Use another drawing method, or change the map provider.

  • Why, oh why, oh why are you giving us a hard time by changing the web layout and usability Garmin? Please tell us why! Ever heard of the phrase: "never change a winning team"? That also applies to succesful web-apps. You managed to change something good into something useless. Please hire the good software engineer back

  • I was able to use Komoot in the same area without any issues. Think I'll be switching over until Garmin get's their act together Slight smile
