Course creation starting point bug

Hello,

has anyone else experienced the following bug when creating a course in Garmin Connect Web?

Steps to reproduce: (Sorry if the terms are slightly off, I am translating from German)

  1. Create a start point.
  2. Delete the start point
  3. Create course with at least two points
  4. Click: Return to start point -> Bug: Connect routes to the deleted start point, not the current one.
  • Yes, but I click undo rather than delete the start point, so it has never been an issue for me.

I believe there are other anomalies similar to this.

  • Thanks for the tip. I hope I can remember this.

  • Meanwhile, since this is an issue, I created a support case with Garmin using chat. Here are the pertinent details.

    SUPPORT CENTER CHAT
seilogramp: I've noticed strange behavior with creating a course in Garmin Connect Web. It can be reproduced by following these steps:

    1. Create a start point
    2. Delete the start point
    3. Create the course with at least two points
    4. Click "Loop to Start"
    • Connect routes to the deleted start point, rather than the current one. The workaround is to never delete the start point, rather click "Undo."
seilogramp: I can send a video if you think it would help.
    • Garmin Support: Sure! That would be good to have if you can capture it.
    • Garmin Support: No worries! I was able to, I believe, recreate that issue that you are seeing. Let me test to see if it also exists on the app.
Garmin Support: Of course! Let me know once you've sent that video and I can create a case to have the web team look into why it is attempting to redirect to the original start point.
    • seilogramp: Uploading now... Done. File name is GarminConnectCourse.mp4
    • Garmin Support: Perfect! Let me go ahead and get that pulled and I can add that to the case. Since it's the weekend, won't be able to have an engineer look at this until Monday at the earliest. Once they resolve this issue, I'll reach out with a follow up email to let you know it's been resolved.
    • Create a start point.
    • Delete the start point

With the newly released version of Garmin Connect Web and the course creator, you can no longer delete the start point. You have to use the undo feature. I'm considering this issue as resolved.
