Activity not uploading to connect

Hello, I am a new garmin user. Got my fenix 7 six days ago. First days everything was working perfectly. The activities were even uploading to garmin connect. Today I experienced my first issue:

Today's run is not uploading to garmin connect even if the watch is correctly connected (the watch still receives notifications and the app is synching well with the green dot).

Phone running latest connect version, my watch is running the 11.28 software version.

I tried to restart the app, restart the Bluetooth, restart the watch, restart the phone, unpair and pair again the watch to my phone (this step deleted my predefined text answers...grrr), and nothing worked.

Never had this issue before during 3 years with my coros watch, and I am a bit upset. Is that a common issue with garmin? How can I fix it?

  • Try syncing the watch with Garmin Express (on a PC) - this often works when an activity upload via GC fails.

    How often is this happening to you, people? Is something that I have to be aware of each week? Or is not happening so commonly? It is so annoying for me...

  • Never had a sync issue with my Fenix 7. My old Fenix 5, now with my wife, occasionally fails to sync automatically but will always sync with a manual sync from the control menu on the watch or from the Garmin Connect app. Using IPhones here.

  • You also can do synchronisation over WiFi.

  • Today another synch issue. Heart rate and body battery from the night are not syncing. Tried to restart watch and phone, also tried wifi Sync. Nothing worked. I'll not be able to update via usb until Monday... Not as good experience as expected during my first week with the Fenix 7

  • Been having this issue as of late with the recent firmware. Went for a race, but only got uploaded a few hours later. Saw another competitor had his uploaded instantly. Had a few training runs have this problem as well. 

  • Today another synch issue. Heart rate and body battery from the night are not syncing. (Again!). And today's run is also not syncing. Everything else is syncing (steps, heart rate from the rest of the day, etc.)Tried everything except sync via usb since I am not at home. Which is the procedure to contact Garmin customer service? Maybe my watch is defective... Shouldn't be normal that I cannot see my activities until days ago when I plug the usb cable into a computer. I am so angry about that.

  • Yesterday I plug the watch to the usb with Garmin express. The activities from days ago are uploaded to the computer, but the heart rate and the body battery aren't uploaded, so I've lost this information forever

  • Today another issue. Today's activity is not syncing into the Garmin connect app. I started my holidays and I won't have access to a computer until next Tuesday. I tried all the troubleshooting again, even syncing with another phone. Nothing worked. Never had a problem like that with other brands. This watch is intended to being in the mountains... But I need a computer to sync the activities. It has no sense... Can anyone from Garmin help me please? I found this inside the Garmin connect app:

  • Today's activity is not syncing into the Garmin connect app.

    When you get back to a computer, please zip then attach the fit file associated with this. We can take a look and see if there is an issue with these files.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a reputable file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.
