Resting calories randomly dropped

Hi everyone,

i have had my Garmin for about three weeks and my resting calories have been the set at 1586 (I’m 161cm and 45 kg) but two day ago it dropped to 1304 even if I upped my weight from 44kg to 45kg - which I would think it would elevate it. I do quite a bit of exercice but I don’t think that would affect it.
does anyone know how to change it back? Or do I have to reset it? why did it change?

thanks!

  • Garmin currently changed the the RMR formula in the latest firmware of some watches (I know about Instinct 2) so that it is closer to the standards used elsewhere. Until now, the RMR levels were quite a bit higher than what any RMR online calculator would show for your gender/age/weight, so it became more realistic with the change now. AFAIK, it was not changed at other models yet, but I guess we can expect it will be changed sooner or later too. Typically it now shows the RMR around 200 Calories lower than earlier.
