I am not able to edit GPS tracking in my activity, I didnt stop the watch when I finished snowboarding and the data is incorrect. How I can edit the GPS route?

Now the guy on the chat is sending me info that I am not able to cut the activity to the spot that I phisicaly ended my training. I swear I could do that in the past, as I had similar situation.

Has anything changed?

Please help me with this, I see this a quite annoying defect.

  • For some weird reason, only some of the activity types have the Trim function available. However, there is a quick and easy solution if you need to trim an activity not having that option - change the activity type for example to "Running", trim, and then change it back to the original type. You won't lose any metrics, and the trimming is reversible, so no need to fear experimenting with it.

  • Thank you for the answer.

Well, this got even more ridiculous - I switched to running and instatly received half-marathon badge. Tried with other activities, but there is no GPS route trim option.

This is anoying, as the whole training is useless now and showing wrong data.

Wondering why they changed this, to harvest even more data when you forget to switch training off and not allowing you to amend it, whats the point? I am thinking od deleting the whole activity, since it is incaurate.

  • there is no GPS route trim option.

Where are you looking? If you open a running activity in Garmin Connect Web, you should see it.

  • I switched to running and instatly received half-marathon badge.

It does not matter at all. It will be removed, once you switch back to the original activity type, after the trimming.

    Wondering why they changed this,

I do not think it ever worked for any other activity types than the basic types like Running, Cycling, Walking, and perhaps a few others. At least not in the couple of past years that I am using Garmin Connect. Not sure for snowboarding - I never used it, but I'd be surprised if it changed only recently.

  • Yup, its there. I had to change the activity to running (snowboarding didn't have trim option) then trim and change back to snowboarding. It worked, I am happy with the activity details now. Thank you!

  • It worked, I just missed the trimming option in the menu for running activity. All in good order now, thank you Trux!
