Garmin Connect - saying that my device is capable of something that it dosn't

Hi,

on Garmin.connect the help section says that my device forerunner 955 solar is capable of "Nutrition and Hydration Tracking" and "jump tracking" function on mtb. But it is not capable of that things, so why it's written that he can?

Please differentiate the descriptions according to the device used...

  • But it is not capable of that things

I do not own the FR955, but I'd be surprised if it did not support MTB Jumps, because even my Instinct 2, which is much inferior and an older model than yours, does have this feature:

As for the hydration and nutrition, that's available for all devices through Garmin Connect, and for some models (incl. the FR955) also through optional CIQ widgets (minimally the hydration).

  • hi, unfortunatley no https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=LnMrHIIquc8loZMhtxZ0i7&tab=topics jumps is available only on edge devices and seems also "Nutrition and Hydration Tracking". The CIQ widgets are you talking about it's not available during activity, only outside and these data are not used anywhere, it's only like a memo of what i've drink during the day.

I've done lot of jumps in these session and that's the problem, if I look at connect.garmin it saying that my device can recognize that but it's not, only edge device can... and that's a misleading information

  • The FR955 should be capable of using IQ widget/apps during activities. Just not recommended as it suffers from the same bug as the other Fenix 7 like devices that you will loose your GPS signal eventually when doing so.

  • How can I use them? by pausing the activity?
But I think we are not talking about the same data, i'm talking about the fluid intake inside the activity that are not releated with the widget, am I wrong?

  • Loss press back button to the watch face, then scrolling into your glances, no stopping.

A bug will stop your track recording though on some widgets (Garmin Hydration tracking is one of them) on the first or second access.

I never uses it, so I don't know if it will link that intake with the activity.

  • If there is this bug I avoid to use this Sweat smile It will be nice to have a data view of it during the activity

  • You can use apps that use location for them self, just like a rainradar that has to locate you anyway to work. You will get GPS ready message when you access it and your activity continues to be recorded in background. Only if you access a widget without "location use" you will notice your watch vibrating, not getting a "GPS ready" message and then you know it stopped tracking you.

Hydration widget does not need location so on the current firmware it would work once per activity, for whatever reason.
