Software Update (Armenian Font) won't clear from outstanding sync notification

Does anyone know how to get rid of this ?

I continually have the little blue dot in the top right 'sync status' space indicating something new to sync.  When I look at the details it refers to a software update containing just three Armenian fonts.  I have synced several times (Forerunner 255 Music) both from the watch itself and from the mobile app but this outstanding update just won't clear - if I remove it with the little cross to remove updates, it just returns.

Obviously not the biggest problem out there, and it doesn't affect any other functionality of either the site or the watch, but it's just irritating that I can never be sure of the sync status without looking to check if there's anything other than the Armenian font update.

  • Two months ago and no response. Well, I'll respond if only to say that I have the same issue with my fenix 7 and have no idea how to get the watch to accept the update or make the notification go away.

  • For updates of Connect IQ apps there is a space limit (separate from overall disk space), if it's full, you may need to delete some app to complete an update.

Don't know about the font, but you can check, to be sure, how the space looks, it's listed on Express after connecting by USB. Or try restarting the watch.

This has nothing to do with Connect IQ apps or free space. In my case, I just added a brand new Fenix 7 to my account and now Garmin Connect Web is showing a pending install of the Armenian fonts. However, they never actually install and so the notification never goes away. Worse is that I don't even need the Armenian fonts.

  • Apologies - I never got round to updating my original post.  I found that by syncing just once over the cable, using the Garmin Express desktop app, finally cleared the non-syncing items; I was then able to uninstall the Garmin Express app (I never use it otherwise) and the problem hasn't reoccurred.   Give it a go - may work for you also ?
