Unable to change gear defaults

On the Garmin Connect website I'm unable to change gear defaults. Either to remove a default or add a default to an existing piece of gear. It goes through the motions of having accept the change default in the popup (which I hate) but when I hit save nothing happens. And checking the gear list the defaulta do not change.

I wish you would have just left it alone since it worked fine for years before the change a few months ago.

  • Please report the issue to the Support. This is a user forum, and we cannot help you with fixing bugs in GC Web. Garmin staff intervenes here only exceptionally.

  • I have the same problem.

  • Glad it's not only me. Misery loves company. Of course it has to happen just as I decided to switch from my mtn bike to road bike for a few weeks change of pace.

I went to Garmin Support as trux suggested and filed a report via email. Maybe if you have time you might do the same. The more complaints they get the sooner they will look into it I hope.

It should be no problem at all for a modern company to look into the only worldwide GARMIN forum and check for error messages and user opinions.

A modern user-friendly company does not have to leave everything up to the customer.

  • I agree. But I want this issue fixed so I filed the problem report with their support site. At least they got back with me this morning and I was able to provide some addition info I had gathered.

Also, I was able to change my defaults on the mobile app although I much prefer the desktop.

Thanks, that worked for me too

although I much prefer the desktop

    Me too.

  • Garmin support emailed me this afternoon indicating the bug had been squashed. I'm now able to modify my gear entries and save the changes on the website like always.

I've got to give Garmin credit for replying to my original report in a timely matter, getting the problem fixed and then notifying that this had been done. I've sent emails to so many companies over the years only to never hear back from them that it was nice to see a company be responsive.
