Events not being sent to device

I'm trying to sync Events which I added to my Race Calendar in Garmin Connect Web with my Forerunner 945 LTE.

When I select "Send event to device" in Garmin Connect Web, it asks me to allow opening Garmin Express on my Mac which it does, and then Garmin Express automatically goes through the motion of syncing with my Forerunner 945 LTE, claiming it was successfully synced in the end. 

When I then go to the "Race Calendar" on my Forerunner 945 LTE, I can see three events (so it seems to have worked successfully for those) which are all Running events. However, for all other events won't sync (Triathlons / multisport events and Swimming events).

I'm using

  • Firmware on Forerunner 945 LTE is 7.11.
  • Garmin Express is version 7.16.1.0.

I also tried via the iOS app. However, while I can see the events in the calendar there as well, when selecting an event the app shows me an error saying "Something Went Wrong. Please try again later."
