Is there a public roadmap for Garmin Connect Web?

Software has had few changes over the last several years so wondering if a roadmap exists for this or if it has been abandoned?  There are little, easy things that need to be done that seem to be ignored?  One minor example - the Garmin scale measures body fat percentage but there is no where to store it in Connect Web or Connect iOS.  Just seems to be a lack of an integrated roadmap here.

  • I do not have a Body Fat field in either Connect Web nor Connect iOS

You will only have the Body Fat field in Garmin Connect, once you successfully import some body fat data.

  • Ok.  Just wish I could enter manually.  Is there a place to view release notes for these monthly updates?

  • Is there a place to view release notes for these monthly updates?

Unfortunately not. I can only again recommend suggesting it to Garmin through the form at Share Ideas | Garmin. It would be indeed useful. Currently they only publish release notes for firmware upgrades.

  • Well, as I wrote and as you can see on my screenshot, it works fine for me as well as for countless other people, so I guess you must be doing something wrong

I have also tried it with your data given above. It does not work for me either.
Have you tried it yourself with your given data?

    as for countless other people,

Which countless users have also tried exactly your mentioned data and how do you know that?
Where have they reported about it?

  • Have you tried it yourself with your given data?

Yes, I did. I use the same file daily, just changing the values as needed. The data you see on the screenshot comes from that file. You can put multiple lines with values in the file, too. It works as well. What error are you getting when importing the data?

  • I am also surprised that you can upload the BMI!
This is calculated by Garmin and is not a value to enter?
Is there not a conflict if you upload a wrong value that is not identical to the weight? I can not imagine that the database, then accepts something like that. I can not change the BMI but only the weight and my height.

  • This is calculated by Garmin and is not a value to enter?

Yes, it is calculated when you enter just the weight, but you can import it, and override the calculated value. Though, it is certainly better keeping it right.

  • Since I can't verify it so far, I'll have to take your word for it. But that is very surprising.

It would speak against any principles of a database, which calculates data. Therefore, it is also logical that Garmin does not allow you to upload any steps made (manually) or the altitude data (manually) of an activity.
The data must always be the basis of a calculation. Garmin would otherwise allow that their own data is no longer traceable and worthless. The actual market value of the company in the future is exactly this data.

  • There is a proof here, that you can import whatever you want - I just imported 6 completely different (and wrong) BMI and Body Fat values for the same day:

  • Crazy, now it works for me but WITHOUT the quotation marks.
Problem is like also with your shown data, which is the time always 1:00 clock.
How can I import the time correctly?

@ If you enter a 0 in the BMI field, Garmin will calculate it itself.
