December Warrior badge error

I had accumulated moments shy of one (1) hour of Yoga in December before I joined the "December Warrior" challenge. Garmin Connect Web virtually immediately awarded me the subject badge, which requires four (4) hours in December.  I like badges, but I'd like to legitimately earn the ones I have. I think Garmin needs to fix the bug (probably a DB query error) and then audit those to whom the badge was awarded in error.

  • I did a couple tests and couldn't get the badge without doing the full 4 hours so it isn't a general error.

Have you double checked the times?

Use this filtered search for all yoga this month: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activities?activityType=fitness_equipment&activitySubType=yoga&startDate=2022-12-1&endDate=2022-12-12

  • This just happened to me last night.

I have 3 hours and 19 minutes of Yoga activities and was awarded the badge.

  • Using your search string, I show 5 of the 6 activities I kept this month. But all 6 show if I just use the Activities side-bar on GCW. GCM shows all 6 also.

I did delete 1 activity last week (Thursday or Friday), but the accumulated hours towards the 4 hours showed correct after I deleted that activity.

At any rate, it doesn't really matter because I will have more than 4 hours by the end of the month anyway. But there is something wrong with the badge this month.

  • Would the deleted activity have put you over 4 hours? Maybe there is something with removed activities not being handled correctly even if the progress bar shows the correct value.

When you delete an activity the accumulated value is not updated until you log another activity of the same type or do an update of one of the old activities.

  • No.

The next activity was Monday, which if added along with the deleted activity would have totalled over 4 hrs.

But I forgot to delete it from the watch, so maybe that has something to do with it  although it was deleded from GCW & GCM.

Yes, this does seem like the situation of changing a WALK to a HIKE and the walk total doesn't go down until the next walk.

  • The counters may indeed keep the totals even after deleting an activity or changing its type. It can take another day till the counters are updated. I noticed it in the past at diverse types of challenges, when I mistakenly or purposely registered an activity under a different type.
