Military Fitness Tests

This really isn't specific to the Instinct 2, but anyone have an idea/solution for creating a single 'workout' that is the 6 events of the Army Combat Fitness Test? I'm sure not just the US Military Services would benefit to keep a fitness test in one spot.

Thanks in advance.

  • Use the workout builder on connect.garmin.com and it syncs to your watch?

  • Between "type" and "target" accounting for weight of the three rep MDL or the distance of the throw I'm thinking it's missing some options....hence me reaching out to the community for alternate ideas.  Not trying to be an ass, just at a loss right now.

  • Looking at this - Army Combat Fitness Test - Wikipedia

The events of this test are very specific and unique. Some can be created in Garmin Connect such as the Trap-bar Deadlift and the Hand Release push-up. Others are impossible, such as the sprint-drag-carry, as there is no associated workout in Garmin Connect. You could suggest it to Garmin using the Share Ideas form.

Also, there is a list of all the available exercises here - GARMIN CONNECT EXERCICES - Google Sheets

  • And that is the crux of the problem. I know it's not just a Military that would benefit from a fitness test tracker (my last HIIT gym had a quarterly 'test'). I will have to try the Share Idea form and see if it something that would be helpful to all.

  • I'm not sure if you're looking for something to prepare for a test. Firstly, there are already applications that help you prepare for tests in the special forces. I'm sure you can find them on Garmin too. By the way, there are very complex standards with a test not only for strength but also for knowledge. My brother was training hard to get into the special forces, I was surprised that he did not do pull-ups or push-ups, but read and passed tests on various subjects like history, math, biology, and others if I'm not mistaken there was a very extensive test on the civil war this quizzes.studymoose.com/.../ site helped him  You need to be versed in many areas, one fitness tracker will not do. Secondly, it is important to know that an application can only help you achieve your goals if it provides enough information about what you need to do and how best to do it so I don't think the army is interested in it.

  • you're not getting the ask....I can create what I'm looking for in an excel spreadsheet in about 30 mins; but that's not in my Garmin/Garmin Connect.
