Massively Inflated Calorie Burn In Imported Fitbit Data

I'm a recent convert from Fitbit to Garmin, and I like data so I of course wanted to import my Fitbit data to Garmin. Followed the steps, imported correctly, but on several days it has decided I burned around 15,000 calories... I'm nowhere near that active. I checked the csv files and the 'Calories Burned' and 'Activity Calories' are all where they should be.

So where are all these thousands of calories coming from? I like my data to be accurate please Slight smile

While we are on the topic of accurate data, how would I go about deleting falsely tracked steps in Garmin Connect? (e.g. steps counted when driving).

Cheers!

  • As for the Calories - hard to tell without seeing the data.

As for the steps - you cannot delete them, but you can prevent them by starting the Driving activity when driving. If available for your device. If not, Indoor Cycling will block the steps counter too. The activity can be changed to Driving later in Garmin Connect. Or you can discard, or delete those activities, if you do not need the log.
