Garmin Connect Group Photo Limitations

You can upload a JPG, GIF or PNG image. Max file size: 2 MB

I have a picture that meets both of these requirements and ADD IMAGE button is greyed out. I have to crop it until it's about a 1/5th of its original size before it will allow be to upload it. Also, I tried to reduce the picture resolution until it would accept it. 605x605 pixels and 211 KB.

For the last couple of months, I had a picture on there, about 1.5MB, 2247x2247. Now it won't let me upload that either...

Anybody know what the hiccup is?

Don't know, but to reduce size, better just reduce quality by some image software, simple one is IrfanView, or advance is Gimp.

Save as... -> JPG & choose quality from 1 to 100.

Put some values like 80% or 50% until needed size, usually less quality is not so noticeable on JPG photos.

If resolution is really big, then can be also changed.

It's not the size, I'm way below 2MB limit. It has to be some other metric they're looking at, right now I can only get 600*600 to upload. Pretty ridiculous for 2022.

Could be other metric, but with more options you can check, maybe size limit is just reduced somehow.

Try large image with low quality, or small image with high quality, to be sure if size or resolution has something to it.

I am experiencing the same. I have a .jpg that is 477KB, and it will not allow me to upload at all. I wish they would add this function to GC on iOS so we could just use our phone.
