Swim workouts imported from TrainingPeaks measure yards instead of meters.

I am importing my workout from Training Peaks to Garmin Connect and even though TP is configured in meters I could see on the plan (within GC) that it shows in yards. Even when the when I try to start the workout in my watch, it will warn me that the watch settings will be updated.

I am running GC version 4.60.

    Check the settings of the Pool Swim activity, and verify the length of the pool. If it is set to yards, all workouts will be in yards. You cannot swim laps measured in meters, if you are in a pool with dimensions in yards.

    Hey thanks for your response. Pool distance in TP and in my watch is set to meters, but for some reason when the workout plan gets sync between TP and Garmin Connect I can see that the pool length is changed to yards, which causes the watch to change to yards. I dont see an option on GC App/Web to select pool distance, so I would think it will inherit it either from TP or from the watch itself.

    Try creating a swimming workout in Garmin Connect, and test it with it. If it works, then there is very likely a problem in the TP workout. In that case I'd suggest contacting TP, and asking them to have a look at it.

    BTW, where exactly on the watch? The are several places where you can change the units. However, I mean specifically the settings of the Pool Swim activity. There is the option called Pool Size, and it must be set either to 25m, 50m, 33.3m, or to a custom size..

    Yes I have modified it in the pool size and I am sure its set to meters because when I try to select the workout from the watch it tells me that since the workout is in Yards the pool size will be change to match what I have in the workout.

    I just tried to create a custom/manual workout as you suggested and I can select the pool size and that part works fine. 

    I found out something else that caught my attention before Sept 28 all workouts are displayed in meter in the calendar (Garmin Connect web interface) and after Sept 30th they are all displayed in yards. I think it was around that date when I noticed that Swim workouts were downloaded to the watch.. before that date they wont show up, only running and bike (at least when they come from TP).. so I would agree with you that it sounds like the problem might be coming from TP..

    Well, I do not use TP, and know very little about it, but I remember having seen a lot of complaints here on the forum, in the past, about TP swim workouts not uploading to Garmin devices. So, seeing what you wrote, it looks like they finally managed to make their workout compatible with Garmin, but still need to fine-tune some details.

    This is happening with my athletes as well as myself ALL swims where training peaks and watches are set to meters is reflecting in yards only when inititatinng the TP workout on Garmin
