No weekly intensity minutes for Zwift activities

Zwift activities are missing from weekly intensity minutes completely

  • Thank you! I am really thankful for all your support and workarounds, but still this strikes me as very odd.
As you can see, Zwift activities are imported into Garmin Connect perfectly (excuse the German language) with every detail, such as Distance, Load, Training Effect, Type, Speed, HR, Cadence, Power. It just strikes me as very strange, that such a basic measurement as IM's get set to 0, considering that at least the duration of the activity itself (without any factor) should be recognized.

So thank you again for all your suggestions! To me this is just a blunder on Garmin's side and I will continue to use intervals.icu for an overview - just to be clear, this did work up to August and I have verified all old data, just now IM's have gotten useless and so I was considering it a bug that might get fixed rather quickly (by rolling back to the code snipped that did the magic). Nevermind guys, don't worry about my minor issue...

I never doubted it, but as I already wrote, Zwift does not calculate the Intensity Minutes, and hence does not export them to Garmin Connect. Only the watch does it.

So why don't you post the data, as requested, so that we can see it too?

  • Nothing is calculated in Garmin Connect. Everything is calculated on the devices. So, you need to let a device that supports intensity minutes calculate it. That is why you need to use the watch.

  • Here you are, an example from may - did a Ride on Zwift and as always had the watch upstairs.

  • And could you post also the daily heart rate graph from the same day?

  • Sure. My interpretation would be: continuous HR, because I put on the Garmin HRM Pro strap before taking off my watch, then a cutoff, when I got shower, because I remove the strap, then shower, let the watch charge up and put it back on. I've check a dozen of activities and it was the same pattern every time up to august.

  • HRM Pro is an activity tracker just like your watch and will calculate intensity minutes on its own.

"If you have a Garmin HRM-Pro or HRM-Pro Plus which is also paired to the Garmin Connect app on your phone you will get Intensity Minutes for activities which would otherwise not earn Intensity Minutes."

  • Yes, HRM-Pro does record the intensity minutes, as long as it is connected over the BT to the phone. As I already wrote, IMs do not come from Zwift, they are only counted by select Garmin devices.

  • Yea, great. But it doesn't work anymore, hence I don't get any when Zwifting, which is my issue at hand.
Edit: Wait Wait Wait: So you are telling me, that I have switched phones once, never connected the strap to the new phone and therefor all the data was never downloaded to Garmin Connect?!

  • Yes. Connect HRM-Pro to Garmin Connect and it should work again.
