No weekly intensity minutes for Zwift activities

Zwift activities are missing from weekly intensity minutes completely

  • Did you wear a Garmin watch supporting the feature of Intensity Minutes?

  • Sure! Fenix 6X but obviously don’t wear it on Zwift. Btw. just to clairfy: everything else is imported to Garmin, Activities, HR, Elevation, Calories, Training Effect

  • Sure! Fenix 6X but obviously don’t wear it on Zwift.

Why obviously? Most people wear the watch 24/24. Regardless, you should, otherwise no IMs can be attributed, since it is only the watch that calculates them, using the heart rate. Zwift has no such capability.

And you best link the HRM strap (that I assume you wear) to the watch too - in that way you do not even need to wear the watch, just keep it nearby, so that it can stay connected to the HRM. The strap can be simultaneously connected to multiple devices. Although in that case you'd need to start an activity to activate the connection to the HRM. You can then discard it at the end, to avoid the duplicate.

    • Yea, that would be extremely complicated. It has worked up to a month ago and I am surely not double tracking and then deleting just because a bug has been introduced. I will train on Zwift the whole winter. Really sad.
    • Just to add: the fully Zwift activities are on Garmin, including Heart Rate and everything. It‘s just a bug and should not be necessary to double track…
  • If you find it complicated, just wear the watch while pedaling. Cannot be simpler. I do not think you ever had IMs from Zwift rides, unless you have worn the watch.

  • You don't have to double track. The watch will measure you heart rate and calculate intensity minutes without an activity. If you want the most accurate data you will need to start an activity on the watch and in the end discard it, but I think it is good enough to just wear the watch. I never double track my rides.

  • I can’t do that, because the watch will count steps and the whole kcal measurement is wrong then. Add to that, that wiest HR is inaccurate while there is a activity with perfect measures in terms of HR and Power, I don’t see the point. If it will be this way from now on, I‘ll use Strava or Intervals.cc snd forget about Connect.

  • It was simpler up until August, just sayin… also works on other platforms flawlessly.

  • I can’t do that, because the watch will count steps and the whole kcal measurement is wrong then

First of all, the watch detects no steps on a bike. Then, the calories calculation is not based on the the steps.

I doubt you got any IM's when not wearing the watch. If you are sure you did, please post screenshots of an IM graphs from that time. You can see it easily on this address (change the date in necessary): https://connect.garmin.com/modern/daily-summary/2022-08-02/intensityMinutes

  • If you start a bike activity on the watch the step counter is turned off. If you don't start an activity it might count a few steps but that will be very few since you don't move your arm. The watch will start to count steps after 10 consecutive steps and that should never happen on the bike.
