Speed / Pace is missing

Hi,

I have a few activities, recorded on the Forerunner 245 while windsurfing. I have a "custom" activity based on walking - which have named Windsurfing.

On Garmin Connect Web I set the activity to Windsurfing (which I can not do directly on the watch. When I try and look at the recording - I see I move - but in areas the pace / speed is missing. For some of the areas it is missing the speed/pace can be calculated to pretty much the same (average) than the parts shown. Sure they seems to coms shortly after "turns" that obvious are slower - but why lave it out?

Yes, I had a look at the activity - there are indeed track points with valid position data, in the places with the zero speed. It looks like the Walk is not the best activity profile to use as a layout…

Could you change back to Walking and show the pace graph?

If I do that I get "1:00:00 / km" as pace :-( - essentially the same

In that case the watch did not detect any new position in that time. Check the recording mode in the System setting, and if it is set to the default "Smart Recording", change it to "Every Second".

I will try that (once I find the System settings), but the watch did record both time and location. The Connect analytics has the distance and time graph, even though the speed is set to zero.

Yes, I had a look at the activity - there are indeed track points with valid position data, in the places with the zero speed. It looks like the Walk is not the best activity profile to use as a layout for windsurfing (not detecting any steps, it may think you took a cab :-) ). Try Cycling instead. Or install a Connect IQ app made for windsurfing - there are multiple of them in the app store.

I changed both the record Every Second and to Windsurf PRO. Works now (but do not know which change made work )
