Groups and Calender

HI all, I may know the answer to this question but thought I would ask the experts as the official answer didn't answer the question. 

Up until a few months ago I used the calender within a group to let everyone know (In the group) when the next run was and what course we will be running, at some point in July I was unable to add any more dates and no longer add courses.  I contacted Garmin who said they have ditched this feature now.

So I asked what was the use in the calender, what is the point in it being there, and they couldn't answer me.

The group feature isn't really supported with the app, ie you can't add posts, now its nearly useless on the web too.

Are Garmin giving up?  I've been trying to find professional cyclests on Garmin, they don't exist, even the people they promote on the website no longer update the profile, not since about 2018 anyway

    This is a heavy blow. Garmin, why would you do this? Not being able to add events makes groups feature totally useless. Do the right thing and revert the change or just explain what you are doing so we can abandon hope.

    I'm glad I found this post because I was bout to pull what little is left of my graying hair trying to figure out how to add an event to the Group Calendar. It seems like it's shouldn't be a complicated feature to support but I'm guessing that Garmin Groups, by and large, aren't widely used with Strava and FB groups. At least, now I know.

    You can still do it privately then share calander details.  But what's the point in having groups now...

    You can still set up your calander and events.  But I couldn't edit it on the group calander.

    How silly..

    This is really unfortunate. I was hoping to use a Garmin group to coordinate a weekly group ride (location and route) this year. I was really excited when I found that groups can have courses and a calendar but then crushed when I discovered that I can't actually add anything to the calendar.

    I have a Parkrun group, a choice of 3 different routes so every week, sometimes weeks in advance I would set the course, date and time. It is every Saturday at 9 but the course can change depending on the weather.  Then one day I couldn't edit a day I had created,  thought it was just Garmin having a glitch,  it wasn't until I came to add the new dates and courses that it wouldn't work, I contacted support they couldn't get it to work either so they contacted the developers and was told it was intentional,  so I asked what use is the group feature without it, I just had the reply that the issue was intentional and there is nothing more they could do.

    You can edit your private calander on the pc then top right corner 3 dots you can then shste rit via a whats app group. Under share event. But its a riyal pain..

    They have updated the calander today on your phone.. you get badge for using it.  Add events and share with you'd groups 

    Ask my wife how. She showed me.. lol.

    Yes thank you, I noticed the badge yesterday oddly enough,  I created a event and got the badge then today I will do the Parkrun and see if I get the other, still can't get it or the route to show in the group calender though. That's what I need and want, find this very frustrating,  what's the point in a sports group if you can't use it to organize a run or ride.....
