Can't link Triathlon activity to calendar race event

I previously added a Multisport race event to my calendar in Garmin Connect Web. This was for a triathlon on August 21.

Then on that day I recorded a Triathlon activity on my Forerunner 935.

I went back to the calendar today and tried to link the recorded activity to the race event but it didn't work. In the calendar I clicked on the event to open it, and then in the "Link Activity" field I selected the recorded activity.

But after I clicked on OK it didn't stick. Nothing appears to be actually linked. Is there a way to make this work?

I never tried it with multisport, so maybe it does not work either, but did you try it in the opposite way - assigning the event to the activity on the activity page (just under the title)?

Under the activity title there is a field to set the Event Type (which I set to "Race"), but I don't see a way to link it to a specific calendar event. Am I missing something?

Yes, indeed, the event is only available at selected activity types like Running. Missing at Multisport.

I chatted with Isabella at Garmin support. She confirmed that this is a problem and is going to create a case.

Garmin partially fixed this defect. You can now link a multisport activity to an event in the calendar, but you still can't do it from the activity page.
