Garmin auto-categorization of workout steps buggy and wrong - can i edit/turn off?

Garmin has this new feature where the watch / software will 'auto-categorize' certain runs (for me, might be other sports), after you're done, into 'warmup', interval, rest, cooldown etc. See garmin's description here https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/9286182613

Before, when i went to the history on my watch, or looked at the activity on web, i would see all the laps. This still happens on my easy runs/long runs, when there is no dramatic change in pace. What i'm seeing now is that when i'm doing intervals, garmin tries to categorize some laps as intervals, others as rest etc. At first, I thought "Great'. Until i now realized the software behind it is off and cannot classify things correctly.

I usually save my warmup etc as a separate activity, and have just my intervals / workout as one activity. What I'm seeing is that it categorizes the first steps as warmup, even though they are the first intervals. It's more of an annoyance, since i can go through the data on strava later, but i'd like to be able to see laps on my watch/garmin ios/web, and not this bs classification (especially when it is wrong)

Example: lap 1/2 is lumped into 1 'warmup'. On web, that's ok cause I can split it out and look at the actual time - but on my watch, it will only say 'warmup' and it's all lumped together.

How do i get the old 'LAPS' back or is there any way to re-classify the steps when garmin is wrong?
