Question on pool swim lap times using 735xt

Garmin noob here. I recorded my first swim on my recently acquired Forerunner 735xt. The 20 laps of the 50 metre pool were recorded correctly, as was the overall time. In looking at the data in Garmin Connect, I can see a few funky graphs with my speed and elapsed time and also my fastest and average time per 100 metres. However I can't seem to find my individual lap time listed anywhere on either the watch or the app. I would like to be able to see my time for each individual lap if possible but I can't seem to find that information anywhere. I am probably missing something basic. Can anyone kindly help me please? Much thanks in advance for any assistance.

  • Lap times, in Garmin Connect Web (that's the forum you are posting to), are below the graph on the tab Intervals. By default, you see the cumulative times, but you can click the arrow to see the data of all the individual laps. You can also use the button Graphical, for a simplified view of the laps.

  • Hey Trux, thanks so much for the answer, I found it!! Perfectly described. I didn't even know there was PC version of the app that's on my phone. May I ask a follow up please - is there a way to see these intervals on my phone? Thanks again!!

  • is there a way to see these intervals on my phone?

Yes, in the same way - under the Laps tab, although I think you won't get as many details and options as with GC Web.

  • Thank you for the reply. I found the tab but, it's weird. It doesn't seem to have the lap info under that tab, although I can see it on my computer, I can access it on my phone. I wonder if I did something wrong when I timed my swim. Thanks again for all your help

  • Should read "although I can see it on my computer, I can't access it on my phone." apologies

  • Yes, that's what I wrote - you won't see the details of the individual pool laps, unless you tagged them all with the lap button while doing the workout. In my example you can see I marked couple of interval of 1 to 3 pools lengths, but you can choose whatever number of pools you want, when swimming. Anyway, I am almost exclusively using the web version of GC for any data analysis - it is much more comfortable, and more complete.

  • Thank you so much, Trux. It seems odd that I would need to hit the button to see the info on my phone. I will stick to the web version like you suggested. Thanks again, your help is very much appreciated

The phone app shows only "intervals" not pool laps. Intervals are determined manually by the lap button, pool laps automatically by the pool ends. Both of them are useful. The manual intervals for example for separating different swimming styles, or different exercises. Only GC Web can currently expand the intervals into individual pool laps.

  • Got it. Thanks!
